Dr. Vasundhra’s efforts to rehabilitate minor trafficked girls rescued from Mumbai Beer Bars inspired her to look beyond institutional care and advocate for family-based care. Her exposure to foster care in USA during 2004-05 further strengthened her desire to give family life to millions of homeless, working or trafficked children in India.
In 2015 she founded the Centre of Excellence in Alternative Care to transform the institutional care system in India. She served on the Board of the International Foster Care Organization, UK from 2015 to 2022. Dr. Vasundhra authored “User Guide on Foster Care” and many other books to promote family-based care in India.
Under her leadership, CEAC has become a pioneer in family-based care in the country. She brings with her 24 years of child protection experience and holds a Ph.D in Law from Northcap University, India.
