All’s Well That Ends Well

Story of a Boy Who Didn’t Give Up On Hope

Abandoned at age six, Vikram was placed in a Child Care Institution by the CWC in Chhattisgarh. Despite being declared legally free for adoption at eleven, his age deterred potential adopters. Aspiring to be a doctor, Vikram’s fortunes changed when Mrs. Sushma and her family took him in foster care at the age of 17 years. Despite being aware of the challenges to parent a teenager, the family seemed undeterred to take Vikram into their home. With their support, he excelled academically and is now pursuing a diploma in computer applications. The Chhattisgarh DWCD is assisting him in preparing for medical entrance exams, helping keep his dream alive.

Sibling Placement

Doubled Up on Love and Affection

Dev (14) and Mann (12), orphan brothers residing in a Child Care Institution (CCI) in Chhattisgarh, found a loving foster family on November 9, 2023. After over three years in CCI, their chances of being placed together seemed slim due to their age and acceptability by adoptive families. However, a foster family, who had no children of their own, embraced the opportunity to foster both the boys. This marked the first sibling placement in the state of Chhattisgarh. The brothers are now thriving not only academically but also in arts and sports. Thanks to the foster family for taking the challenge of fostering siblings.
